Firstly, S23 is an investigational selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM).  It is currently in research by GTX (a pharmaceutical company that specializes in hormonal drugs) to see if it has use as a male contraceptive (due to its sperm-suppressing characteristics).

How S23 works:

Secondly, S23 was created by altering the chemical structure of a compound named C-6. Above all, it is an improved version of C-6, showing higher bioavailability and higher binding affinity.

Additionally, S23 boasts very high bioavailability, up to 96%. It shows one of the highest binding affinities among all the SARMs, similarly, to LGD-4033. As a matter of fact, it is a full agonist of the androgen receptor and is the only SARM, alongside LGD-4033 to have that honor.

In conclusion, animal studies show both a good ratio of anabolic to androgenic effects, and dose-dependent suppression of spermatogenesis with spontaneous recovery after cessation of treatment.
