Firstly, Modified Growth Releasing Factor aminos 1-29, can be referred to as Modified GRF (1-29) or “Mod GRF(1-29),” aka CJC 1295 without DAC. It is a synthetic analog of the endogenous peptide signaling Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH).

Similar to the body’s natural GHRH, Modified GRF 1-29 functions by binding to the growth hormone releasing hormone receptor (or GHRHr) in the anterior part of the pituitary gland. There, it works to amplify the pulsatile release of growth hormone, consequently provoking increases in production of IGF-1.

In addition, it exerts its effects in a similar manner to GHRH. Lastly, Modified GRF 1-29’s positive effect on growth hormone output modulates by a negative feedback mechanism initiated by somatostatin. Somatostatin is the endogenous hormone aka growth hormone inhibiting hormone (GHIH).

GHRH has 44 amino acids in its chain structure. A truncated synthetic form of GHRH called Sermorelin or GRF 1-29 has 29 amino acids. Taking it further has four substituted aminos in its chain that serve the purposes of preventing degradation and oxidation in manufacture and transport as well as in vivo, while also increasing binding affinity to the GHRH receptors.
